Data, sources and attribution

A directory is only as good as its provenance. Every record here carries its source, and every field a machine inferred is marked as inferred on the page itself.

Licences and attribution

Location records sourced from OpenStreetMap are used under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). © OpenStreetMap contributors. Map tiles are served by CARTO from OpenStreetMap data. We do not scrape Google Maps or any competing directory.

Enrichment reads the public web pages of the businesses themselves, honours robots.txt, identifies itself in the user agent and is rate limited. Logos and brand names are the property of their owners and are used for identification only.

Correcting a record

Every page has a “suggest an edit” control that needs no account. Corrections go to a moderation queue and, for straightforward fields, are applied within a day. If you own the business, claiming the page gives you direct editorial control instead.

Removal requests

A business can request removal of its listing. Publicly available business information is not personal data in most jurisdictions, but we honour removal requests from verified owners regardless. Closed businesses are marked closed rather than deleted, because people search for them.
